RM 2000 unsaturated polyester resin for mould making

RM 2000 is an unsaturated polyester resin, especially formulated for mould making. Filled and pre-accelerated, it is a ready to use product. Obtaining moulds with superior surface profile. (Nil Shrinkage).

Characteristics

RM 2000 has been designed to polymerise at room temperature following addition of CATA 2000
Rapid cure and rapid manufacture of the mould (in one day).
An easy to use product, pre-filled and pre-accelerated, with no further mixing required.
Fillers: reduce the cost and improve rigidity of the mould.

Advantages

Rapid cure and rapid making of moulds.
Nil shrink. Low profile surfaces.
Reduction of mould cost
Complete dimensional stability.

NORD Vinylester resin for backup layer after Gelcoat

Resin Norester 680 TPA is a vinylester resin with excellent corrosion resistance it is thixotroped, promoted with cobalt and amine.

Excellent solvent and acid resistance. High flexural strength. High heat resistance.
Norester 680 TPA can be used for hand lay-up and spray-up, filament winding.
The Norester 680 TPA cures at ambiant temperature with addition of MEKP.

Gelcoat for tooling

The use of polyester resin gel coats based on vinyl ester, for mould making; give tough, durable gel coats which have superior resistance to styrene and other solvents.

Vinyl ester gel coats will have superior mechanical properties and give a longer service life in a mould due to the enhanced chemical and mechanical properties. Vinyl ester gel coats, however, are more sensitive to changes in humidity, and also can be more difficult to apply than gel coats based on isophthalic acid. More care must be taken when applying vinyl ester gel coats.

Properties

Gel coat GC 206 is thixotropic and pre-accelerated, and has been formulated for brush application.
Easy to apply and with good hiding power
High quality with excellent weathering and mechanical properties.
High gloss.
Very good chemical resistance.

RM3000 for higher temperature tools.

RM 3000 is an unsaturated polyester resin based on vinyl ester, especially formulated for producing composite moulds for applications where high thermal and chemical resistance are required.

Filled and pre-accelerated, it is a ready to use product. Moulds made with RM 3000 give perfect plug replication due to the zero shrink properties of the resin.

Characteristics

RM 3000 has been designed to polymerise at room temperature following addition of normal MEKP catalysts.
Rapid cure and rapid manufacture of the mould (in one day).
An easy to use product, pre-filled and pre-accelerated, with no added mixing required.
Zero shrink properties in thin or thick sections
Low exotherm curing system
Semi-translucent when cured
High solids level with low viscosity
Fast build up of Barcol hardness
