Compare epoxy systems - laminating

SR 1500

SR 1500 is specifically developed for hand lay-up and vacuum bagging production, for ambient temperature curing.

SR 1500 / SD 2507
Low temperature curing (10 to 15°C), even for thin laminates.
Quick bonding and repairs
Surface filling for foam cores
Compounds

SR 1500 / SD2505, SD 2503
Standard laminating system for all size parts, molds, fillet joints.
Particularity: The hardeners can be blended in order to obtain different working characteristics.

SR 1620

High modulus laminating epoxy system with excellent "tack" characteristics for ambient and moderate temperature post curing.

SR 1620 / Fast hardeners SD 2706, SD 2625
Well adapted for vacuum contact molding of thin or small parts.
Quick repairs.
Fast curing of laminates at ambient temperature of 20 to 30°C.
High to very high mechanical properties depending on post cure temperature.

SR 1660

Laminating and casting epoxy system.
140°C continuous working temperature.

SR 1660 / SD 2630
For composites parts operating at up to 140°C.
Excellent resistance to chemicals and oxidation. Low exothermic reaction.
Laminating, casting, resin transfer molding.

Typical application: composite tooling for prepregs “120°C”, thermoforming molds, structural parts working at high temperature

SR 1660 / SD 7820
Hardener with higher reactivity and lower viscosity than SD 2630 .
For composites parts operating at up to 140°C.
Excellent resistance to chemicals and oxidation.
Laminating, casting, resin transfer molding.
Typical application: composite tooling for prepregs “120°C”, thermoforming molds, structural parts working at high temperature.

SR 1700

Very high modulus and high mechanical performance epoxy system.
High chemical resistance.
Excellent adhesive characteristics on all types of reinforcements (glass, aramid, carbon, etc...)

Fast hardener SD 2806, SD 2805:
Well adapted for vacuum contact molding of thin or small parts.
Quick repairs.
Fast curing of laminates at ambient temperature
High mechanical properties at ambient temperature, excellent after post cure.

SR 1700 / slow SD 2803 or ultra slow SD 2801 hardener
Very low viscosity.
Long working time, 8 hours.

SR 1700 / Very slow SD 7820 hardener
Very low viscosity.
Recommended for the production of 120 °C tooling for prepregs.

SR 8200

Laminating epoxy containing no phenol or DDM.
High mechanical performance.

The different hardeners available for the SR 8200 resin offer a wide range of reactivity.
Excellent cost/price ratio
High mechanical performance after post cure.

SR 8200 / Fast hardener SD 8206, SD 8205
Fast curing of the laminates at ambient temperature.
High to very high mechanical properties depending on post cure temperature.

SR 8200 / Slow hardener SD 8203, 8202
Necessitates a post cure.
Recommended for the production high performance parts and tooling.
Particularity: The hardeners can be blended in order to obtain different working characteristics.

SR 8500

A multi purpose epoxy system which will suit many composite applications. Recommended for large size parts.
Good mechanical properties.
Good performance/price ratio.

The SR 8500 / SD 860x system is well suited for the production of composite parts working at temperatures of up to 70°C. A post cure treatment is strongly suggested.

The two hardeners available have extreme reactivities:
- SD 8605 , fast hardener, accelerator.
- SD 8601 , ultra slow hardener, low viscosity with high wetting characteristics.

The hardeners can be blended to different ratios in order to adjust for the working time required.

Also exists in a thixotropic formulation, SR 8500 Black Gel.
