Epoxy resins
SR 5550* Wood Epoxy system
SR 5550 has been especially formulated for building marine composites: bonding, laminating and wood protection.
It has an excellent adhesion to all type of wood. This system is handy with its adjustable working time: 5 hardeners available. It has a low viscosity and is crystallisation free. Excellent for bonding reinforcement materials such as Glass or Carbon onto wood.
Suitable for room temperature applications, gives a high gloss finish, a low surface pollution and is UV stable.
This wood epoxy system has a low toxicity (Phenol and amine free).
SR 8500 A multi purpose epoxy system which will suit many composite applications.
Recommended for large size parts.
Good mechanical properties. Good performance/price ratio.
The SR 8500 / SD 860x system is well suited for the production of composite parts working at temperatures of up to 70°C. A post cure treatment is strongly suggested.
Solvent and reactive Diluent free
Without classified Toxic products (T)
A resin to be combined with two hardeners, used pure or mixable in any proportions
Cure at ambient temperature and post cure at 40 to 60 °C
The two hardeners available have extreme reactivities:
SD 8605, fast hardener, accelerator.
SD 8601, ultra slow hardener, low viscosity with high wetting characteristics.
The hardeners can be blended to different ratios in order to adjust for the working time required.
Also exists in a thixotropic formulation, SR 8500 Black Gel.
SR 8200 Epoxy laminating system
SR 8200 is a new generation epoxy system suitable for small and large scale production. The system has been specially formulated to meet the growing demand for low toxicity system.
The main characteristics of these Epoxy systems are:
Safer handling.
Low fumes emission.
Good mechanical and thermal properties.
Competitive prices
Range of hardeners.
Fast hardeners SD 8206 / SD 8205
Suitable for Hand Lay Up, press moulding and for small parts by vacuum.
Fast hardening of the laminates at ambient temperature 20-30 °C.
Good mechanical properties at ambient temperature, excellent after post cure.
Slow hardeners SD 8203 / 8202
Suitable for Hand Lay Up, press moulding and for medium to large parts by vacuum.
Requires post cure at 60 °C. See schedule for curing.
Suitable for parts with service temperature up to 60-70 °C, high performance composites.
Polymerisation
The hardeners 8206 and 8205 have been developed to achieve excellent mechanical properties after post cure at a moderate temperature.
Hardeners 8203 and 8202 must be post-cured for 16 hrs at 60 °C.
SR 8150 / SD 815 Bx Flexible epoxy systems
Flexible: 80 to 110 % of elongation at break in tension; shock resistance over 150 KJ /m2
Low viscosity of the mixes
Unfilled and translucent
Advantages compare to polyurethane: does not foam when in contact with humidity; memory of shape
4 hardeners available with different reactivities: 25 min to 5 hours of pot-life
SD 815 B 1: Fast hardener, "rigid"
SD 815 B 2: Standard, rigidity between SD 815 B 1 and SD 815 B 3
SD 815 B 3: Slow hardener, very low modulus
SD 815 B 4: Ultra slow hardener
Applications
Parts under vibrations, shocks, low temperature
Flexible laminates: Body parts for cars, motorbike, 4X4
Casting and inclusion (degassing under vacuum)
Parts design, prototypes
SR 1700 High performance epoxy laminating system
High modulus, high resistance systems; Low water absorption of cured systems.
Excellent adhesion on all types of reinforcements (glass, aramid, carbon, polyester...)
Reactivity adjustable by choice of hardener
Temperature to be used after post-curing, above 100°C, (82°C for the SD 2713)
The SD 2706, 2705 and 2713 hardeners offer good mechanical properties at ambient temperature;
SD 2703, SD 7820, SD 6131 are requiring a minimum post-cure temperature of 55°C
Developed for: naval and aerospace structures and automotive prototypes.
